Here is half of the army that I took to the Wackyhammer doubles tournament (Gaz's Nuln army was the other half) and our Last Place consolation prize - Wight King!
My summation: Sir, we need reinforcements!
It was ace. Great opponents, and two close games, with one blow out loss at the end. Given that our lists were really fluffy I think we did well considering. My favourite army was definitely the Tropic Thunder Ogre-Lizardmen army that was really well executed, especially the basing and NMM throughout.
Have to agree on the Tropic Thunder army. Beautifully painted army with fun opponents. Yes, we did go a bit fluffy - and got our fluff properly dusted!! However, those special characters really put the hurt on us in each of the 3 games. Nonetheless, good fun and a great partner. My favourite part? Rolling snake-eyes for the break test my BSB when all was lost...hurrah!
ReplyDeleteYeah I think the first game was really close against Tropic Thunder. There were two occasions where, but for one wound, would have broken the main two ogre threats with a humble unit of swordsmen, which I think shows how effective core can be with detachments and priest. I liked the knights in the first game holding up the entire army and surviving a barrage of enemy fire/magic for seemingly little wounds. That was bloody impressive. Take them again for sure!
